“Best Thing Since Sliced Bread”
Before I found CaterTrax, myself and my Assistant Catering Manager were inputting all of our catering orders in an excel spreadsheet. As you can imagine this would take hours, and for those clients who needed to see what the actual cost was versus the retail cost, that meant we had to do twice the work. Something had to change, so I started doing some research and remembered using CaterTrax at a previous job. I put together a presentation for my boss on the benefits of using this program and went to sell it to him. Surprisingly, he was on board, but our corporate office wanted us to use Caterease, which is what most accounts were using. So I put together another presentation to showcase the difference between the two programs and why this one was more beneficial for our unit. After a long, and I do mean long, discussion, we were able to get CaterTrax and I saw the light at the end of the tunnel. We launched our site almost two years ago, and our clients love the ease of being able to place their own orders when it is convenient for them. They love being able to pull up past orders to help them with planning their budgets for the upcoming year. Our last minute orders have reduced over the years and we are spending less time behind the desk placing orders and more time with our staff and clients. I am looking into more ways to expand this system as I know there is so much more that we are not using yet that would be even more beneficial. This was the best thing we brought to our catering department and to our clients!
