Rooted in firsthand industry experience and the power of technology, CaterTrax was founded with a promise to ensure that caterers and foodservice operators have the solutions and support they need to promote, grow, manage and sustain their businesses. CaterTrax is thriving as the catering management technology leader under the guidance and leadership of some of the brightest minds and most experienced executives. From our homebase in Rochester, we are building software that meets the challenges of today’s evolving foodservice professional.
Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Rich is responsible for providing vision, passion, and strategic leadership for the company by working with the Advisory Board and C- Level Executive Leadership team to establish long-range goals and strategies to increase the value of the company. As Chief Executive Officer, Rich is the driving force behind the innovation, research, and development of the TRAX Platform suite of solutions.
After earning his degree from The School of Hospitality Business at Michigan State University, Rich returned home to join the family restaurant and catering business. He quickly realized the logistics of a busy catering operation were overwhelming without proper communication, and recognized an opportunity to create a tool that would help optimize organization and communication and improve the lives of caterers. Rich combined his interest in software programming with his firsthand experience in catering to implement process and kitchen workflow automation. In 2004, Hospitality 101, Inc. was formally incorporated and has since grown into the CaterTrax we know today. Rich has led the company from a start-up to a rapidly expanding organization with over 7,500 catering operations throughout North America.
Co-Founder and Chief Information Officer
Dan is responsible for providing high level leadership to CaterTrax technology teams including Software Development, Software Quality Assurance, Database Administration and Infrastructure. Dan works with the C-Level Executive Leadership team to ensure our technology supports the strategic planning necessary to continue strengthening our offerings and fueling innovation that meets industry demands.
Dan has held several positions that mesh his business and financial acumen with his passion for hospitality including restaurant owner and Vice President of Operations for a successful regional restaurant chain. Dan was also a Controller for a building materials distributer and Director of Advertising for a print media company. While in these roles, Dan was also working to help launch the TRAX Platform and has managed the company’s financial, operations and systems strategies through rapid growth since its inception. Dan is a graduate of St. Bonaventure University with a BBA in Finance.
Chief Financial Officer
Jeff is responsible for providing the highest level of leadership in directing the day-to-day fiscal functions of CaterTrax. Jeff works with the C-Level Executive Leadership Team to support the strategic planning necessary to help CaterTrax set result driven financial objectives. As Chief Financial Officer, Jeff brings more than 19 years of financial and operational leadership experience to our team.
Jeff has held several Senior Level finance positions including Vice President of Corporate Development, Vice President Finance & Controller, Vice President Financial Planning & Analysis, and Director Strategy & Business Development at both privately held and public companies across the technology, renewable energy, and business services sectors. His various roles provide a wide range of experience in several areas including financial planning and analysis, controllership, investor relations, corporate funding, mergers & acquisitions, and operations planning. Jeff earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance from the State University of New York College at Brockport and his MBA from the William E. Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester.
Chief Operating Officer
Jed is responsible for providing the highest level of leadership for client success and ensuring every client gets the maximum value from CaterTrax products and services. Jed leads the Marketing, Business Development, Client Services, Consulting Services, Education, Product Innovation, and Professional Services teams and secures we have the proper operational controls, tools, systems, and people in place to effectively execute on the company’s long range goals and strategies. As Chief Operating Officer, he has helped CaterTrax become the clear leader in catering management technology by ensuring financial strength and operating efficiency.
Jed has accumulated over a decade of experience in customer-facing roles including direct sales, sales management, advertising, program development, and business management. Jed’s experience supports his ability to deliver relevant marketing, consultative account management, and exceptional service and support. Jed’s hospitality background began with his working career as a kitchen production employee for a catering company out of Albany, NY. Jed graduated from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY with a degree in Communications.
